I purchased this insert for my Z-Man (rectangular) box version of Robinson Crusoe. While the components all fit within the box as shown in the layout, there are a few shortcomings. The trays do not fit snugly, and therefore components can fall out when stack on it’s side. I ended up placing rule books and cardboard on top of the items before putting the box cover on to help. More significantly, some of the tokens do not even fit in the prescribe slots. Determination tokens, storm tokens, and discovery tokens did not fit within the trays as shown (not even close, sometimes 2 or more token widths off), and the lid for the token box doesn’t fit correctly due to the food +1 and wood +1 tokens not having a slot extending all the way to the back of the token tray on the bottom. Putting tokens in non-designated spots alleviates this, but feels sloppy. The hex island tiles don’t really fit snugly in the square tray provided. Finally, the token tray is the most difficult to assemble tray I have ever seen in a insert. I’ve built a few at this point, including Gloom Haven, and this thing rivals them all with fiddly small bits and no good way to assemble while holding the pieces in place. I believe the best way to assemble this tray is probably over several sessions, letting the dividers dry before attempting to move on. I am certain the organizer is assembled properly. Some trays, like the discovery token tray, are slotted in such a way that it cannot be assembled incorrectly. It is simply too small for the number of tokens provided. Overall, while functional, I’m not impressed with this organizer. It probably works better for the newer Portal version in the square box, but I would not recommend it for the Z-Man version.
